For those of you who are interested I just finished the final edits of PHP Unleashed and will have the 1st edition printed by just in time for Christmas. It's a very nice feeling to be done.

In the words of Farley Mowat: "I don't enjoy writing, I enjoy having written."

Well maybe I don't feel that strongly about it, but I do hope that everyone finds the book to be as complete and worthwhile as I tried to make it! A huge thank you to everyone who was involved in making the book, without everyone's support I don't think we would have made it!

Just after figuring out which subway line to take to get to work, I am happy to announce that I've decided to accept a position with Zend and will be moving to sunny California by the end of the month. Besides escaping to warmer climates my duties with Zend will include sharing my PHP expertise as a consultant to corporations, being involved in product development, and continuing my ongoing involvement in the general PHP community.

Although I am extremely excited at the opportunities that lay ahead, I also wanted to take a moment and thank my current employer Community Connect, Inc. When I came to New York I did so with very high expectations of CCI, and I make no secret of the fact that those expectations were met and exceeded throughout my time here. I wish everyone at CCI the best of the years to come and thank everyone there for making me feel so welcome.

Democrat or Republication or Independent, if you are a registered voter in the United States of America you have one responsibility today which you cannot ignore -- vote. For those of you who haven't been paying attention the past few weeks the race for President of the United States is down to hair-thin margins and if there was ever a time that a single person could make a difference in the country by voting, that time is probably now.

Be heard.
