Beginning May 10th, I will be teaching an online training course in PHP through Zend. This 15 hour course will cover all of the essentials of programming in PHP broken down into a 5 week / 3hrs per week schedule. Sound good? If the deal wasn't sweet enough already, Zend will even be throwing in a free copy of their IDE for every student.

Although this particular training session is focused on beginner to intermediate programmers, depending on interest its possible to teach much shorter (perahps 3 hour) training courses on a specific PHP subject. Extra! Extra! Read all about it!

The latest issue of php|architect is out, and it features my article on Internationalization using Smarty (a project which I am working on for the PHP Community site) on its cover! Go check it out! In the article, I look at the trials and tribulations of working with the Smarty templating engine to implement transparent multi-lingual web sites. Getting things to work right wasn't a cake walk, and I won't claim that its the best solution either... but I think its a step beyond what we had, and I'd of course be interested in hearing some feedback.
